“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Something to Think About:
~Why is it so difficult to comprehend that God’s forgiveness and blessings are free gifts?
~Do you ever slip into a subtle temptation of trying to earn and deserve God’s favor?
~Do you ever struggle to accept God’s grace into your own life?
Did you know that God truly favors you? Well, He does! Not because you are the smartest; not because you have lots of talents; not because you are the prettiest or best looking; and not because you do many good deeds – though all these characteristics may be abundant in your life, God favors you out of His deep abiding love for you. And he cares through even the smallest need in your life. “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11
His love is not contingent upon any effort you may ever put forth. In fact, if you declared yourself to be God’s enemy this very day, He would still love you just as much had you not declared to do so.. Now, that’s an awesome love isn’t it?
God’s grace is a wonderful reality that is available for you right now. Here are some aspects of grace that just might be what you need to hear today –
- Grace means God loved you and knew you before you were even born. That’s right! “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you a prophet to the nations”. Jeremiah 1:5
- Grace provides the gift of salvation, a gift that can’t be earned. “I mean that you have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it.” Ephesians 2:8-9
- Grace is available to us when we are weak. “So I am very happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can live in me” 2 Corinthians 12:9
- Grace is sufficient for absolutely any need we have – whether finance, health, relationships, or temptations. “My grace is enough for you” 2 Corinthians 12:9
- Grace provides us with the strength we need to overcome temptation and live a victorious Christian life. “Jesus has the power of God, by which he has given us everything we need to live and to serve God” 2 Peter 1:3
Whatever need you have in your life today be assured, God is on your side and has been from the beginning of time. He is ready, willing and able to help you as you respond to Him with faith – it’s all about faith!
God Will:
Be gracious to you – “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” Luke 6:35
Care for the details of your life – “You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.” Psalm 139:3
Carry out His plan for your life – “I know that you can do things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.” Job 42:2
“You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve” Ephesians 2:8 CEV
Heavenly Father,
I can never thank You enough or ever hope to repay even a small portion of the ultimate gift You have given me through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. I can only cling to Your grace today – and every day to follow. I love Your Lord. Amen.
